LEADERSHIP IN A HERD OF HORSES
Have you ever watched a herd of horses run? It’s almost like watching a river.
The way they flow together, all the horses mirroring each other's movement— knowing exactly when to turn, where to go. It's as if by magic.
But from above, you can see multiple horses leading in different roles. The horse leading in the front is showing the way. The horses at the sides, close and distant, care for all individuals inclusivity and observe the surroundings. Finally, the horses leading from behind are setting the pace and gently pushing the herd in the right direction to a common goal.
All the horses lead naturally together as if they were born to do it, and it works fast and smoothly. They are moving with other leaders, without coercion or fear, knowing that they are all leaders in the team, and trusting that they take the appropriate leadership role, in the situation.
Like horses, we humans are all born to lead, in different leadership roles, either the observing: in the room, the caretaking: from beside, the supervising: in front, or the coaching: from behind. 30 minutes to complete any assignments or to follow up
